*John E. Clough was born in 1836 in America. He was a simple man, not from wealth or influence, but with a burning love for Jesus. When God’s call came to serve in India, he obeyed. Like Abraham, he “went out, not knowing where he was going” (Hebrews 11:8).
His obedience reminds us: God does not call the equipped—He equips the called.

Sowing in Tears
In 1865, Clough arrived in Ongole, Andhra Pradesh. The land was dry, both physically and spiritually. For years, his preaching seemed fruitless. Few responded. He faced loneliness, discouragement, sickness, and cultural barriers. Yet, like the farmer in Psalm 126:5, he sowed with tears, trusting God for the harvest.
His perseverance challenges us: Will we remain faithful even when fruit is not visible?

Reaping with Joy

In 1878, revival came like rain on dry ground. Whole villages of Telugu people turned to Christ. The oppressed and outcast, especially Dalits, found dignity in the gospel. On July 3, 1878, Clough baptized 2,222 believers in one day—a scene echoing Pentecost (Acts 2:41).

Over 8,000 were baptized in two years. The fields were white for harvest, and the Lord of the harvest sent forth laborers.
This teaches us: God’s time is perfect. Faithfulness in sowing leads to abundance in reaping.

In John clough' tomb one Word is written.

Be still and know that I am God.. Psalms 46:10

Lord Jesus send a Revival...

Glory to God.. Amen
