“Make haste, my beloved, and be thou like to a roe or to a young hart upon the mountains of spices” (8:14).

We might say the first appeal for His return in 2:17 refers to a return to fellowship. She had lost that. Darkness had settled down on her soul in those days because of a lack of
response. She then cried out for a restored communion so that the shadows round her life would flee away. She thus pleaded with Him to come over the mountains of Bether, or separation.

In the present verse the urgent cry for Him to come to her has to do with His Second Coming which is still in the future, and may be very soon. The emphasis here is not on a restored fellowship but on His coming again, which will bring into manifestation the phenomena of His kingdom. Thus it is no longer the mountains of Bether which are mentioned but the mountains of spices. This is a figure of the new millennial world of fragrance and beauty.

At this point her experience was like a drop of water losing itself in the ocean, mingling deeper and ever deeper with the love of Christ. Her heart’s affections are in another world. Little wonder, therefore, that she cries out with urgency, “Make haste, my Beloved! As the roe or young hart lights upon the mountains of spices, so do Thou descend into Thy glorious kingdom Although full and mature my love for Thee has now become, yet thereremains something more which can be satisfied only by Thy coming. Then shall faith become sight, and prayer shall be praise forever. Love shall then reach its climax and be freed from the shadows of cloud. Then shall I serve and worship before Thee in a sinless state. What a day that will be! So Lord Jesus, make haste! Come quickly!”

AMEN! EVEN SO, COME, LORD JESUS!

AND UNTIL THAT GLORIOUS DAY,

MAY MY GARDEN CONTINUALLY BEAR ITS

FRUIT FOR THE DELIGHT OF THY HEART.

Sennacherib the king of Assyria came and entered into Judea and encamped against the cities. When he planned to surround Jerusalem and overthrow it, the people of God closed the city gates. But where shall they get water from??

Hezekiah, the king of Judea constructed a 1,777 feet long tunnel and let the clear and cool watercourse of Gihon from Kidron valley, flow through the walls of Jerusalem. (Ref 2Chro 32:30)

When the armies of the enemy were standing every day in extreme heat, the people of Israel drank from the abundance of the watercourse and glorified God. People did not panic or fear while they were within the wall.

God gave a river to run inside the fortress, to supply the need of Israelites. God gave a great victory to His people. Let us sing this song in Spirit in these days of adversity, in faith…

"God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God, The holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High. The Lord of hosts is with us; The God of Jacob is our refuge". Psalms 46: 1‭-‬4‭, ‬7

There is a river inside of a child of God: The river of the Holy Spirit!!

Even though all other streams of water dry up, even though enemies surround him, he sings, “God is my sanctuary, my strength, my fortress, my refuge… Amen.”

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged because of the king of Assyria and the vast army with him, for there is a greater power with us than with him. With him is only the arm of flesh, but with us is the LORD our God to help us and to fight our battles.” And the people gained confidence from what Hezekiah the king of Judah said. 2Chro 32: 7,8

*Christina wanted to leave her poor Brazilian neighborhood. She wanted to see the world. Discontent with a home having only a pallet on the floor, a washbasin, and a wood burning stove, she dreamed of a better life in the city. And one morning, she slipped away, breaking her mother's heart. Knowing what life on the streets would be like for her young attractive daughter, Maria hurriedly packed to go find her. On her way to the bus stop, she entered a drugstore to get one last thing, pictures. That's right, she sat in the photograph booth, closed the curtain, and spent all the money she had on pictures of herself. And with her purse full of small black and white pictures, she boarded the next bus to Rio de Janeiro.

Maria knew Christina had no way of earning money. She also knew that her daughter was too stubborn to give up. And when pride meets hunger, a human will do things that were before unthinkable. Knowing this, Maria began her search: bars, hotels, nightclubs, anyplace with the reputation for streetwalkers . She went to them all. And at each place, she left her picture taped on a bathroom mirror, tacked to a hotel bulletin board, fastened to a corner phone booth. And on the back of each photo, she wrote a note. It wasn't long before both the money and the pictures ran out, and Maria had to go home. The weary mother wept as the bus began its long journey back to her small village.

It was just a few weeks later that young Christina descended the hotel stairs. Her young face was tired. Her face spoke of pain and fear. Her laughter was broken, her dream had become a nightmare. It seemed all hope was gone. Then one day, as she reached the bottom of the stairs of yet another hotel, her eyes noticed a familiar face. She looked again, and there on the lobby mirror was a small picture of her mother. Christina's eyes burned and her throat tightened as she walked across the room and removed the small photo.

Written on the back was the compelling invitation, "Whatever you have done, wherever you have been, whatever you have become, it doesn't matter. Please come home". And she did.

God the Father has sent his own Son to our world with the same message. Whatever you have done, no matter how far away from God you may think yourself to be, it doesn't matter. God has made His forgiveness available to you, and He is standing with His arms open wide to receive you. This Christmas, isn't it time for you to come home?

Repent, come back to Jesus..
Jesus loves you!!!

*It was December 17, 1903, and the place was Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Orville and Wilbur had just made history for keeping their flying invention in the air for a total of 59 seconds. Elated, they rushed to the telegraph office and wired their sister in Dayton, Ohio, and here was the telegram: "First sustained flight today for 59 seconds. Hope to be home by Christmas". Their sister was thrilled and she hurried down to the local newspaper with great news and the telegram and, sure enough, the next day, there was an article about the Wright Brothers in the, "Dayton Daily News". The headline read: "Local bicycle merchants to be home for Christmas".

And not one single thing was mentioned about the first airplane flight.

"Isn't that like Christmas? We give all the details and we forget the wonder, the most important message of all...

Let us remember Jesus and His love in the midst of all programs and busy schedules of Christmas season.

Robert Ingersoll was a famous agnostic, and he was one of the most intimate friends that Lew Wallace had. He once said to Lew, he said, "Lew, see here, you're a learned man and a thinker. Why don't you get some material together, and write a book to prove that Christianity is not true? Such a book," he said, "Lew, would make you famous. It would be a masterpiece . The thought made a deep impression on Lew Wallace, and he decided to do it. He writes that he began to collect material in libraries here and in the old world.

He said, "I gathered everything over that period in which Jesus Christ, should have lived. Several years were spent in this work. I had written nearly four chapters when," he said, "it became clear to me that Jesus Christ really lived here. Then conviction became a certainty. I knew that Jesus Christ had lived because of the facts I found in the secular writings of the period in which he lived. I had begun to write a book to prove that Jesus Christ had never lived on earth.

Lew Wallace asked himself, if He was a real person, was He then not also the Son of God and the Savior of the world? And he said, "Gradually, the consciousness grew that since Jesus Christ was a real, historic person, He was the person that He claimed to be". And he said, "I fell on my knees to pray for the first time in my life, and I asked God to reveal Himself to me, to forgive my sins, and to help me become a follower of Christ. Towards the morning, the light broke into my soul, and I went into my bedroom and woke up my wife, and told her that I had just received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior".

Lew Wallace did write a very famous book. Some have called it the most influential Christian book of the 19th century. It was a masterpiece, and the crowning glory of his life's work. He changed the book he was originally writing, and used all of his research to write another book.
The book was called "Ben Hur: The Tale of the Christ!!!

The book Lew wallace wrote became a blessing to many. And "Benhur" movie was made based on the book he wrote.....
Glory to God!!

The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world.
John 1: 9

But one thing is needful.... Luke 10:42 (a)

*Dear Savior at whose feet I now sit, When you knock on the door to my heart, what is it you are looking for? What is it you want? Is it not to come in to dine with me and I with you? Is it not for fellowship? And yet, so often, where do you find me? At your feet? No. In the kitchen. How many times have I become distracted and left you there . . . sitting . . . waiting . . . longing?

What is so important about my kitchen full of preparations that draws me away from you? How can they seem so trivial now and yet so urgent when I’m caught up in them? Forgive me for being so much distracted by my preparations and so little attracted by your presence. For being so diligent in my service and so negligent in my devotion. For being so quick to my feet and so slow to yours. Help me to understand that it is an intimate moment you seek from me, not an elaborate meal.

Guard my heart this day from the many distractions that vie for my attention. And help me to fix my eyes on you. Not on my rank in the kingdom,as did the disciples. Not on the finer points of theology, as did the scribes. Not on the sins of others, as did the Pharisees. Not on a place of worship, as did the woman at the well. Not on the budget, as did Judas. But on you. Bring me out of the kitchen, Lord. Bid me come to your feet. And there may I thrill to sit and adore Thee. .

You are my hiding place; You shall preserve me from trouble; You shall surround me with songs of deliverance. Psalms 32 :7

*We hear so many reports of depravity, terror, hatred and political and economic turmoil-so much bad news, so much division and distortion on all sides.

Yet in the midst of this restlessness and disorder,God's word tells us, "Let the saints be joyful in glory:let them sing aloud upon their beds" psalms 149: 5
This is faith, when you can sing and rejoice in a time of great turmoil.

No matter how fiercely storms rage, our God has promised to lead and protect us through it all. He is the God of the impossible and He will deliver and protect in ways we cannot imagine.

The most important issue now is holding on to your faith .In a time when men's heart are failing them with fear,God's people are to "look up,and lift up your heads ; because your redemption draws near.” Luke 21: 28
