The Lord is My Shepherd

Two disciples walked from Jerusalem to Emmaus—heavy-hearted, confused, and disappointed. The cross had shattered their expectations. But in their brokenness, Jesus Himself came near and walked with them.

Like a true Shepherd, He led them gently—not first by changing their situation, but by opening the Scriptures. He brought them into the green pastures of His Word, where their hearts slowly began to live again.

They were walking through a valley of shadows—a place of grief and uncertainty. Yet the Light of the world was beside them. Even when their eyes were restrained, Jesus became their light in the darkness.

Step by step, He guided them into the paths of righteousness for His Name’s sake, correcting their thoughts and revealing God’s greater plan through the suffering of Christ.

When they reached their destination, they invited Him in. At the table, He took bread, blessed it, broke it—and their eyes were opened. In that moment, He prepared a table before them, and their hearts overflowed with joy.

Immediately, they rose and returned to Jerusalem. The same road that once carried sorrow now carried hope. Truly,  goodness and mercy followed them on their return journey.

And soon, they were found again—not alone, but with the other disciples, in His presence—where they would remain, rejoicing in the risen Lord forever.
