നിന്നെ  സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നത്  ഉചിതം  തന്നേ .ഉത്തമഗീതം  1:4

 'എൻ യേശുവേ  ഞാൻ  നിന്നെ  സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു ' (my Jesus i love Thee)
എന്ന  ഗാനം  എഴുതിയ  വില്യം  രാൽഫു് ഫെതെര്സണ്‍ കാനഡയിൽ
 മെതഡിസ്റ്റ്  സഭയിലെ അംഗമായിരുന്നു.തന്റെ  ഇരുപത്തിയേഴാം
ജന്മദിനത്തിന്റെ  തൊട്ടു മുൻപ്  താൻ  പ്രിയം വച്ച  കർത്താവിന്റെ
 അടുക്കലേക്കു  പോയ അദ്ദേഹം  എഴുതിയ  ഏക  ഗാനമാണിത്.

കർത്താവിനെ  വളരെയധികം  സ്നേഹിച്ച  വില്യം  തനിക്കു
  16  വയസുള്ളപ്പോൾ  ഈ  സ്നേഹഗാനം  രചിച്ചു .കഴിഞ്ഞ  130
  വർഷങ്ങൾ  അനേകായിരങ്ങൾ  ഈ ഗാനം  പാടി.കർത്താവിനെ
 സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നതാണ്  ഏറ്റവും  ഉചിതമെന്ന്  പറഞ്ഞ ഉത്തമഗീതത്തിലെ  ശുലെമ്കാരിയെപ്പോലെ  താൻ  യേശുവിനെ  ആഴമായി  സ്നേഹിച്ചു .
ആ  സ്നേഹബന്ധത്തിൽ  നിന്നാണ്  ഈ  പാട്ട്  എഴുതിയത്.
പിന്നീട്  ഒരു  ബന്ധു മുഖാന്തരം ഗോർഡനു  ലഭിച്ച  ഈ  ഗാനത്തിനു
അദ്ദേഹം  ഈണം  നൽകി.

ഈ  ഗാനം  ഹൃദയത്തിൽ  നിന്ന്  നമുക്ക്  പാടാം .അനേകരുടെ  സ്നേഹം
 തണുത്തു  പോകുന്ന ഈ  കാലത്ത്  ദൈവം  നമ്മുടെ  ഹൃദയത്തെ
 ഈ  ഗാനത്തിലൂടെ ഉണർത്തട്ടെ.

യേശുവിനായി ,അവനെ  സ്നേഹിച്ചു  കൊണ്ട്  നിറയുന്ന  കണ്ണുകളോടെ പാടുക......
