*THE BLESSING THAT NEVER ENDS
There is a beautiful word that connects the beginning of the Psalms, the beginning of Jesus' ministry and the closing pages of the Bible.
That word is BLESSED!
The first Psalm opens with:
“Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly...” (Psalm 1:1)
Centuries later, when Jesus opened His mouth to teach the crowds on the mountain, His first words were:
“Blessed are the poor in spirit...” (Matthew 5:3)
He spoke about those who mourn, the meek, the merciful, the pure in heart and those who hunger for righteousness.
And when we travel to the final book of the Bible, Revelation, we discover seven beautiful declarations of blessing!
The last one is found in Revelation 22:14:
“Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life...”
Just think about it!
The Psalms introduce us to the blessed person.
Jesus teaches us about the blessed life.
And Revelation shows us the blessed destination!
What a journey!
We begin by walking with Him, continue by living under His Kingdom, and one day we will see Him face to face.
The world may call us blessed when everything goes well. But Jesus calls even those who mourn, those who are meek and those who are persecuted blessed.
Why? Because their blessing is not dependent on circumstances. Their blessing is rooted in Him.
One day, every earthly struggle will be over, every tear will be wiped away, and we will enjoy His presence forever.
The Bible begins with a blessing, fills our journey with blessings, and points us towards an eternal blessing — the presence of our Beloved Lord Jesus!
