*Seasons of Refreshing

“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” — Acts 3:19

In the beginning, in Eden, God came in the cool of the day. It was a moment of nearness, peace, and refreshing. His presence itself was the cool breeze that satisfied the soul.

Acts speaks the same language—seasons of refreshing. When we turn back to God, His presence returns like that gentle cool of Eden. It is not just forgiveness; it is restoration of fellowship, of joy, of life.

When we drift away, the heart slowly becomes dry. There is dullness, irritation, frustration—like a desert with no water. We try to manage, to cope, to push through, but the dryness remains.

But the moment we turn back—everything changes.

The desert becomes a garden.
Dry ground begins to flow with water.
What was empty is filled again.

God does not give a drop—He sends showers.
He does not sprinkle—He pours.
Refreshing comes like cascading waterfalls, like rain that cools the weary heart.

What a blessing—to know that one turn towards Him brings back the cool of His presence.

Today, turn again. The season can change.

  1. Showers of Refreshing(Verse 1)We wandered long in desert lands,Beneath a burning sun. With empty hearts and dusty hands,And strength completely gone. But in the moment we look back,The barren landscape dies. The ground that once was split and cracked,Now blooms before our eyes.(Chorus)He does not sprinkle—He will pour! The showers fall from Heaven’s door! The dry ground flows with waters deep,For God breaks through the night we weep. One turn toward His holy face,Brings down the torrents of His grace.(Verse 2)The weary heart is cooled again,The heavy spirit sings.Like waterfalls of cleansing rain,The peace that Jesus brings. He does not give a single drop,To mock our thirsty soul. His floods of mercy will not stop,Until the broken’s whole.(Verse 3)O traveler on the parched highway,Why faint beneath the heat?Turn back to Him, turn back today,And find the cool retreat. The wilderness becomes a spring,The season changes fast.Step into what the Lord will bring,The drought is gone at last.
