*The Lion and the Lamb

“Immediately the girl got up and began to walk around… Jesus told them to give her something to eat.” — Mark 5:42–43

In one moment, Jesus—the Almighty God—gave life back to a twelve-year-old girl. Everyone was astonished at the miracle.

But notice what Jesus did next.

The One who had just raised her from death cared about something as simple as giving her food.(Jairus's daughter) 

This is our Jesus—the power of God and the love of God together.

Psalm 147 says that He counts the number of the stars and calls them each by name, yet at the same time, “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”

The One who holds the stars also holds our broken hearts.

He is the Lion and the Lamb—mighty enough to calm the storm, yet gentle enough to care for a hungry child.

He could sleep peacefully in a boat while the storm raged around Him, and then simply speak—and the wind and waves became still.

What a beautiful Savior!

He is altogether lovely.

The One who has all power is also the One who cares for the smallest details of our lives.
